Physically Modeled Atmosphere

Weather and atmospheric conditions in rFpro can be either live-tuned or pre-programmed. You may control the weather from the rFpro AdminConsole, or it may be controlled by modelling tool you use to create your tests and experiements. For example when you create a test in IPG Carmaker, the settings used are automatically transferred to rFpro.

The following series of images show changes to the weather to add clouds, increasing levels of precipitation and finally snow.

Reflections and Lighting

Lighting is modelled accurately for the specified latitude & longitude, day of the year, time of day and atmospheric and weather settings. This is particularly important for the testing and training of ADAS, Autonomous and Deep Learning systems, where camera sensors can be confused by chllenging lighting conditions.

Exposure Control

Sensors can also struggle with contrast and exposure control, particularly when transitioning between poorly lit and well lit roads and when the sun is low in the sky or a vehicle coming towards you has their headlights on.

rFpro has a physically modeled atmospheric model with controllable weather, real-time reflections, lighting and shadows.
